Works for: Nokia 3230, Nokia 6630.

  • config: Linux, Bluetooth
model = symbian
port = 00:11:9f:XX:XX:XX
connection = bluetooth

Steps needed to run gnokii (see also the documentation; in gentoo it resides within /usr/share/doc/gnokii-*).

  1. Transfer gnapplet.sis (provided by gnokii in utils directory) to the phone
  2. Install (will be done automatically most times)
  3. (Optionally) adjust the .ini-file on the phone (Resides within c:\System\Apps\gnapplet). I disabled irda, because the 6630 does not have it.
  4. Start gnapplet (my 6630 needs the .exe to be executed directly, use a filemanager like FExplorer, it's free, to launch c:\system\Apps\gnapplet\gnapplet.exe on the phone)
  5. Adjust .gnokiirc on the PC as shown above. Additionally you may need to set:
rfcomm_channel = 14
  1. Launch gnokii --identify on the PC
me@localhost  ~ $ gnokii --identify
