Memory type codes

This is a list of all memory types that can be used with phonebook commands and with SMS commands.

Phonebook memories

Notes:

  • extended fields are ignored when using model = AT or when using SIM card memories
  • DC, RC, MC, LD can contain date and time of the call according to phone clock (unlike the caller ID of landline phones)
  • most phones support only a limited subset of memory types

SMS memories

The easiest way to know which memory types are supported by your phone is running:

gnokii --showsmsfolderstatus

Notes:

  • IN, OU, OUS, F1..F20 are available only on Nokias when using the nk6510 driver
  • with Motorolas use MT
  • most phones support only a limited subset of memory types
